Biography

Ivan Wood is a Camera and Steadicam Operator with over 15 years of experience across film, television, and music content. He began his career in 2004 at Brighton Film School before training under renowned Director of Photography Christopher Hughes (The Garden, The Last of England). Starting as Hughes’ assistant, Ivan quickly progressed into camera operating, earning his first major break shooting the UK segment of the Keanu Reeves documentary Side by Side in 2011.

Since then, Ivan has shot commercials for brands including Nivea, Microsoft, BMW, and Kleenex, and worked extensively in the music industry with artists such as Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran, and Simply Red. He is also currently moving into drama, having recently done Steadicam dallies for DOP Ksenia Sereda on 35mm and a short film with James Friend and Perter Marsden.

Ivan operates a Tiffen M2 Steadicam with integrated Volt, enabling precision movement and versatility across commercial, music, and narrative work, and making him adaptable to any project’s visual style. And is happy to work as both a B camera operataror or A camera operator depending on the level of the project.
